Cordae is back with a hit with Roddy Ricch on his new song titled GIFTED. Merging for a superb collaboration, the two of the hottest hip-hop stars put their talents in display and delivered a bang! The classic track came after Cordae’s debut album: The Lost Boy, which earned him a nomination at the Grammys. GIFTED also features singer and songwriter, Ant Clemons with a vocal appearance.

The video for GIFTED has been released. It shows Cordae and Roddy Ricch talking and walking down their old blocks before driving down to a mansion where they performed. They ended the video are two powerful messages; one is the words of Huey P. Newton:

“The revolution has always been in the hands of the young. The young always inherit the revolution.”

The other says:

“Defund the police. Arrest and convict the killer cops,”

The messages are then followed up by the names of Jacob Blake, Breonna Taylor, George Floyd, and Elijah McClain.

This track is also Roddy Ricch’s first official song since his Grammy nomination in 2019 for his debut album: “Please Excuse Me For Being Anti-social”. Roddy Ricch won the Best New Artist award at the 2020 Virtual BET Awards, which Cordae was also nominated for, on the 28th of June.

Cordae, who was up until last year known as YBN Cordae, has been a major supporter of the Black Lives Matter protest swooping through the US. He was arrested in Louisville for engaging in a protest demanding justice for a murdered black woman, Brenna Taylor. That hasn’t stopped him from showing support to the BLM movement as proven by the message at the end of the music video of GIFTED.

Having earned 2 Grammy nomination for his debut album in just two years in the music scene, there’s no doubt that Cordae is an artist that has a lot to offer. In 2018, he was named one the most promising music stars by The Wall Street Journal.

Listen and continue to enjoy GIFTED as we expect more hit from Cordae.
